The Collection Case Log shows the history of a loan's collection cases: when the case was opened, each bucket change, each reminder, hardship requests and when the case was resolved. These entries are created by the system and cannot be edited.

To access it, go to:

> Home > Lending > Collections > Collection Case Log

### Fields

- **Collection Case**: the case this entry belongs to.
- **From Bucket / To Bucket**: the bucket before and after the event.
- **Days Past Due**: DPD on the date of the event.
- **Event**: what happened. See Events below.
- **Process Collection Dunning**: the dunning run that sent the reminder. Set only for Dunning Sent entries.

### Events

- **Case Opened**: a new case was opened when the loan moved into a delinquency bucket.
- **Bucket Escalated**: the loan moved to a higher bucket.
- **Bucket De-escalated**: the loan moved to a lower bucket but is still overdue.
- **Dunning Sent**: a reminder was sent by **Process Collection Dunning**.
- **Hardship Requested**: a restructure was started from the case.
- **Resolved**: DPD came back to 0 and the case was resolved.

### How it works

- There is only one entry for each loan, posting date and event. If the same event happens again on the same date, the existing entry is updated.
- The system takes the loan's current bucket from the latest Case Opened, Bucket Escalated, Bucket De-escalated or Resolved entry. It uses this to decide whether the next DPD change is an escalation or a de-escalation.
- If the Days Past Due Log is reposted for past dates, any event older than the latest bucket change is ignored. So reposting does not reopen or change the current case.
- Cancelling a Process Collection Dunning does not delete its Dunning Sent entries.
