Raven is an open-source chat app for teams. It runs on your Frappe site, next to the other Frappe apps you use. People sign in with their account on the site.

## The main parts

- **Workspaces** group channels and people. A site can have more than one workspace. See [What is a workspace](wiki:9becd98e729c).
- **Channels** hold the conversations about one topic, team or project. See [What is a channel](wiki:1246dc2c43fc).
- **Direct messages** are private conversations with one person. See [Direct messages](wiki:7e2ee44586d1).
- **Messages** can have formatting, mentions, emoji, files, links and polls. See [Send messages](wiki:98eab59bff0a).
- **Threads** hold a discussion about one message, apart from the channel. See [Threads](wiki:785b0aef64bb).
- **Search** finds messages and files. See [Search](wiki:e03ff5982660).
- **Notifications** tell you about mentions and reactions in the app. See [In-app notifications](wiki:f999c29a32f9). Push notifications alert you on your computer or phone. See [Push notifications](wiki:0e6987e961d0).
- **The mobile app** runs on iPhone and Android. See [Install the app and sign in](wiki:2360c5b6e360).

## Raven and your Frappe apps

Raven uses the users, roles and documents already on your site.

- Share any document from any Frappe app in a message. See [Share documents in a message](wiki:393f10e81cdf).
- Approve documents from the chat. See [Approve documents from the chat](wiki:ff28074cd1f7).
- Send a message to a channel or person when a document changes. See [Document notifications](wiki:14f564810d8c).
- Use agents and webhooks to send messages from other systems. See [Agents](wiki:6e7bbec94d65).
