Add emoji to your messages, and react to other people's messages with an emoji. Emoji your team has added show in the picker next to the standard ones.
## Add emoji to a message
Click the **Emoji** button under the message box and pick an emoji.
You can also type **:** and the name of an emoji, such as `:rock`. Pick one from the list with the arrow keys and **Enter**, or click it.
Typing a text smiley after the colon, such as `:)`, suggests the matching emoji.
Admins can add your team's own emoji. See [Custom emoji](wiki:70ead10ab89c).
## React to a message
1. Point to the message. A bar with quick reactions shows at its top right.
2. Click one of the quick reactions, or click **Add reaction** (the smiley) to pick any emoji.
Reactions show under the message with a count. Click a reaction to add yours. Click it again to take yours back. Point to a reaction to see who reacted.
## See who reacted
1. Point to the message and click **More actions** (**⋯**).
2. Click **View reactions**.
The list shows each person and their reaction. Click an emoji at the top to see only the people who reacted with it.
## Choose your quick reactions
1. Open **Settings > Preferences**.
2. Under **Quick emojis**, click one of the four emoji and pick a new one.
The bar on a message shows these four emoji. When the four emoji you have used most lately are different, Raven shows them as a suggestion under **Quick emojis**. Click the suggestion to use them.
## On the mobile app
Touch and hold a message, then tap an emoji at the top to react. Double-tap a message to react with 👍, or with the emoji you chose.
To change your quick reactions or the double-tap reaction, tap **Profile > Preferences**, then change **Quick reactions** or **Double-tap reaction**.
On the mobile app, the **:** list shows after you type two letters of the emoji name.
