People in the conversation vote, and everyone sees the results as votes come in. ## Create a poll 1. Click the **Create a poll** button (chart) under the message box. 2. Type your **Question**. 3. Type at least two **Options**. Click **Add option** for more. Click the **x** next to an option to remove it. 4. Change the **Poll Settings** if you like. They are listed below. 5. Click **Create Poll**. The poll form with three options The poll is posted to the conversation as soon as you create it. | Setting | What it does | | :--- | :--- | | **Allow multiple choices** | Voters can pick more than one option. | | **Maximum choices** | How many options each person can pick. Shown when multiple choices are on and the poll has more than two options. **Any** means no limit. | | **Anonymous poll** | Hides who voted for what. Everyone still sees the vote counts. | | **Close this poll automatically** | Stops the votes at an **End date** and **End time** you pick. | You can't change a poll after you create it. ## Vote - In a single-choice poll, click an option. Your vote is saved right away. - In a multiple-choice poll, select your options, then click **Submit**. A poll in a channel A single-choice poll shows the vote counts before you vote. A multiple-choice poll shows them after you submit. Only members of the channel can vote. Others see the results. ## Retract your vote 1. Point to the poll and click **More actions** (**⋯**). 2. Click **Retract vote**. You can also click **Retract my vote** in the menu (**⋮**) of the poll details. You can then vote again. You can't retract a vote after the poll is closed. ## See the results Click the poll to open its details on the side. It shows each option with its votes and the people who voted for it. For an anonymous poll, only the counts are shown. The poll details next to the channel The details also show whether the poll is **Open**, open until a date, or **Closed**. ## Close a poll 1. Click the poll to open its details. 2. Click the menu (**⋮**) at the top. 3. Click **Close poll**, then confirm. Nobody can vote once the poll is closed. This can't be undone. :::note Only the person who created the poll can close it. ::: ## On the mobile app Tap **+** in the message box, then tap **Poll**. Tap a poll to see its details.
