Muting a channel stops push notifications for its messages, mentions included. It does not change the **Notifications** page: mentions of you in a muted channel still show there.

## Mute a channel

1. Click your photo at the bottom of the left rail, then click **Settings**.
2. Click **Channels**.
3. Click the bell on the channel's row.
4. Click **Mute Channel**.

You can also open this list from the sidebar. Click **⋮** next to the workspace name, then click **Manage Channels**.

A muted channel's bell has a line through it. To turn push notifications back on, click the bell and click **All Notifications**.

## Good to know

- The bell shows only for channels you are a member of. Archived channels don't have one.
- Muting applies to all your devices.
- Muting a channel does not mute the threads in it that you are part of.
- You can't mute a direct message.

## On the mobile app

Settings is not on the mobile app. Mute a channel from a computer. The mobile app then stops push notifications for that channel too.
