To use Raven, a person needs an account on your Frappe site and the Raven User role. Add people from **Settings > Users**.

## Add a person from Settings

1. Click your photo at the bottom of the left rail, then click **Settings**.
2. Click **Users**.
3. Click **Add User**.
4. Enter their email address.
5. If they don't have an account on the site yet, enter their **First Name** and **Last Name**.
6. Under **Workspaces**, tick the workspaces to add them to.
7. To add them to channels too, click **Select channels** next to a ticked workspace, and tick the channels.
8. Click **Send Invite**.

A person without an account gets a new account and an email from the site to set their password. The site must be set up to send email.

If the email belongs to an account already on the site, the name fields go away and the button changes to **Add**. Click **Add** to give that person Raven. If they are already in Raven, the dialog says **This user is already on Raven.**

Only a System Manager can add people. You can tick only the workspaces you are an admin of. The channel list shows the channels you are a member of, except Open channels: everyone in a workspace is already in its Open channels.

If your site has one workspace and you are its admin, it is ticked already.

## Add system users automatically

Raven can add the system users on your site for you. In Desk, open **Raven Settings**. The setting is **Automatically add system users to Raven**. It is on when Raven is installed.

When it is on, a system user who is not in Raven yet is added when their account is created or saved. Turn it off to choose who uses Raven yourself.

Only a System Manager can change this setting.

:::caution
On Frappe version 15, a person whose roles come from a role profile can't be added from Settings. Add the Raven User role to their role profile in Desk instead.

## On the mobile app

Settings is on the computer only. Add people from Raven on a computer.
