Appearance settings change how Raven looks for you: the theme, where messages sit, how times show, and how images and links show in messages.

Open them from **Settings > Appearance**. To open Settings, click your photo at the bottom of the left rail, then click **Settings**.

| Setting | Options | What it does |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| Theme | Automatic, Light, Dark | **Automatic** follows the light or dark setting of your device. |
| Chat Layout | Simple, Left-Right | **Simple** puts every message on the left. **Left-Right** puts your own messages on the right. |
| Image group layout | Stack, Grid | How two or three images sent together show in a message. Four or more images always show as a carousel. |
| Time format | 12 Hour, 24 Hour | Shows times as 2:00 PM or as 14:00. |
| Link previews | Preview card, On hover | **Preview card** shows a card under a message with a link. **On hover** shows the preview when you point to the link. |

Changes apply straight away.

Chat layout, time format and link previews are saved to your account, so they apply on every device. Theme and image group layout are saved in the browser you change them in.

To switch between light and dark quickly, press **Ctrl + K**, or **⌘ + K** on a Mac, and pick **Switch to Dark Mode** or **Switch to Light Mode**.

## On the mobile app

Tap **Profile** at the bottom of the screen.

- Tap **Appearance** to pick **Light**, **Dark** or **System**.
- Tap **Preferences** to change **Time format** and **Image group layout**.

On the mobile app, link previews always show as cards.
