What is Raven
Raven is a chat app that runs on your Frappe site. It uses the site's users and roles, and any document from any Frappe app can be part of a conversation. It runs in the browser and as an app on iPhone and Android.

Concepts
Workspaces
A workspace holds a group of people and their channels: a company, a team, an office or a group of customers. A site can have one workspace or many, and a person can be in several. Read more.
Channels
A channel is the conversation about one topic, team or project. Every channel belongs to a workspace. An open channel includes everyone in the workspace, a public channel can be joined by anyone in it, and a private channel is for the people an admin adds. Read more.
Direct messages
A direct message is a private conversation between two people. Direct messages are not part of any workspace, so you see them from every workspace. Read more.
Threads
A thread is a side conversation on one message. Replies stay in the thread and do not crowd the channel. Read more.
Messages
A message carries text, files, links, a poll or a document from one of your Frappe apps. Messages can be formatted, scheduled, saved, pinned and turned into reminders. Read more.
Agents
An agent is a user that other systems post as: incoming webhooks, document notifications and your own code. Read more.
Roles
Three roles on the site set what a person can do: Raven User, Raven Admin and System Manager. Each workspace and each channel also has its own admins. Read more.
Raven and your Frappe apps
Raven shares the site's users, roles and documents with your other Frappe apps. A message can carry any document as a card with the document's main fields, and people can take workflow actions on it from the chat. Document notifications post to a channel or a person when a document changes.
