Quiet hours are about push notifications. Outside working hours, Raven can help you send messages silently, so the people you message don't get a push notification for them.
Choose what happens after hours
- Go to Settings > Preferences.
- Under Quiet hours, find Messaging after hours. It shows your organization's working hours.
- Pick an option.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Suggest sending silently | A banner above the message box suggests sending without notification. Your messages are sent as usual unless you choose to send silently. |
| Always send silently | Your messages are sent without notification. A banner says so, and the Send button shows a bell with a line through it. |
| Do nothing | No banner. Your messages are sent as usual. This is the default. |
Working hours are the same every day. They use your organization's time zone, not the time zone of your device.
The banner in the message box
With Suggest sending silently or Always send silently, a banner shows above the message box outside working hours.

- Click ⋮ on the banner to change the option. The banner menu has the same three options as Preferences.
- Click × to hide the banner. It shows again the next time working hours end.
To send one message without notification, click the arrow next to Send, then click Send without notification. Or press Ctrl + Shift + Enter, or ⌘ + Shift + Enter on a Mac.
With Always send silently, the Send button sends silently. To notify people about one message, click the arrow next to Send, then click Send with notification.

A silent message still counts as unread. If it mentions someone, the mention still shows on their Notifications page.
On the mobile app
Settings is not on the mobile app. Choose the option on a computer. The banner then shows above the message box on the mobile app too, and you can tap ⋮ on it to change the option.
To send one message silently, touch and hold the send button, then tap Send without notification.
