Find your way around

Raven on a computer has three parts: the left rail, the channel sidebar and the main area. This page says what each one holds.

Raven on a computer: the left rail, the channel sidebar and a channel

The left rail

  • Search opens the command palette, which finds people, channels, pages and settings and runs commands. The shortcut is Ctrl + K, or ⌘ + K on a Mac. See Search.
  • Direct Messages lists your conversations with one other person. See Direct messages.
  • Notifications lists mentions of you and reactions to your messages. See In-app notifications.
  • Threads lists the threads in your channels. See Threads.
  • Your workspaces, one logo each. Drag a logo to change the order.
  • Manage Workspaces, below the logos, opens Settings > Workspaces. It shows when there is a public workspace you are not in.
  • Scheduled Messages lists the messages you have scheduled.
  • Later holds your saved messages and reminders.
  • Your photo, for your status, Settings and Log out.

The channel sidebar

The sidebar lists the channels of the open workspace. Click the workspace name to switch workspaces. ⋮ next to it creates a channel, manages channels or customizes the sidebar. See Organize your sidebar.

The main area

The channel name at the top of a channel opens its files, links, threads, settings and members. Threads and channel details open in a panel on the right.

Settings

Settings opens over Raven, from the menu under your photo or with Ctrl + /, or ⌘ + / on a Mac. It is on the computer only.

On the mobile app

The app has five tabs: Home for the channels of your workspace, DMs, Threads, Notifications and Profile. Profile holds your profile and status, appearance, preferences, Later, scheduled messages and Log out.

If you are in more than one workspace, tap Home again on the channel list to switch. See Find your way around the app.
